REFLEXIÓN DE LA PALABRA DOMINICAL
El hombre bueno, del buen tesoro de su corazón saca el bien;
y el hombre malo, del mal tesoro de su corazón saca el mal.
En los próximos meses, Filipinas elegirá nuevos líderes para dirigir el país. Y antes de ese día tan importante para nosotros como nación, este momento es crucial; examinar los motivos de cada candidato, mirar atentamente su trayectoria como líderes… ¿Son promotores de la paz, la justicia y la unidad? ¿Piensan en el bien común? ¿Los pobres, los marginados y los oprimidos son su prioridad? ¿Cómo es su integridad moral? ¿Tienen un corazón compasivo y un Espíritu decidido para ponerse del lado de la verdad, para elegir lo que es correcto y para acompañar a la nación hacia eso?)
El Evangelio de hoy nos pregunta: «¿Puede una persona ciega guiar a una persona ciega? ¿No caerán ambos en un pozo? (cf. Lc 6,39)
Esta pregunta se aplica a todos nosotros; laicos, religiosos y religiosas, sacerdotes. No importa qué vocación y profesión tengamos. De una manera u otra, todos guiamos, asesoramos y ayudamos a los demás. Y tal vez, antes de mirar a otras personas y sentirnos tentados a ver primero la astilla en el ojo de nuestros hermanos, antes que percibir la viga de madera en el nuestro, podría ser bueno tener la mentalidad de «yo primero», cuando se trata de pecar y desarrollar una vida de santidad. Así que no contaremos y señalaremos una por una las limitaciones y fragilidades de los demás, sino que nos tomaremos el pulso y tendremos una mirada honesta sobre nuestros defectos, vulnerabilidades e incluso sobre nuestra pecaminosidad.
Como dijeron, «cuanto más abrazas tu propia vulnerabilidad, fragilidad, de tu propia nada y pecaminosidad, te vuelves más compasivo y menos juzgado mentalmente.» En ese sentido puede guiar y guiar a otros no ciegamente sino hacia el camino correcto. La cualidad del corazón brillará y será visible como dice en Lucas 6,45: «El hombre bueno, del buen tesoro de su corazón saca el bien; y el hombre malo, del mal tesoro de su corazón saca el mal».
Y con muchas cosas que están sucediendo en todo el mundo que amenazan la vida, la paz y la unidad afirma este texto bíblico. Así que, mientras escuchamos la Palabra de Dios y lo recibimos en la Sagrada Eucaristía, roguemos y lo convocamos para cambiar nuestros corazones y los corazones de nuestros líderes para que puedan guiarnos y conducirnos a la verdad, la paz y la unidad. Oremos por Ucrania y presentemos a Dios de paz la realidad de nuestro mundo.

evil person out of store of evil produces evil.”
This coming few months Philippines will be electing new leaders to lead the country. And prior to that very important day for us as a nation this moment is crucial; to examine the motives of every candidate, to look intently on their track record as leaders… Are they promoter of peace, justice and unity? Do they think of the common good? The poor, the marginalized and the oppressed are their priority? How is their moral integrity? Do they have a compassionate heart and a determined Spirit to side for the truth, to choose what is right and to accompany the nation towards that?)
Today’s Gospel asked us “Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit? (cf Luke6:39)
This question applies to all of us; lay, religious men and women, priest. No matter what vocation and profession, we have. In one way or another we all guide, mentor and help others. And maybe before we look at other people and be tempted to notice first the splinter in our brother’s eye before we perceive the wooden beam in our own, it might be good to have the “me” first mentality when it comes to sin and developing a life of holiness. So will not count and point out one by one the limitations and fragilities of the others rather will take a lift and have an honest look at our shortcomings, vulnerabilities and even on our sinfulness.
As they said “the more you embrace your own vulnerability, fragility, of your own nothingness and sinfulness you become more compassionate and less judge mental.” In that sense can guide and lead others not blindly but towards the right path. The quality of the heart will shine and be visible as it says in Luke 6:45 “A good person out of store of goodness in his heart produces good… evil person out of store of evil produces evil”
And with many things that is happening around the world that threatens life, peace, and unity affirms this Biblical text. So, as we listen to God’s Word and received Him in the Holy Eucharist, let us beg and summoned Him to change our hearts, and the hearts of our leaders so they can guide and lead us to truth, peace and unity. Let us pray for Ukraine and present to God of peace the reality of our world.
